Yesterday, a nut of the rear sprocket was unbolt on my black 907
I need to fix that damned stuff. Luckily, I have got a spare swingarm.
Any advice?
Do the bearings need to be replaced or can I use the old ones again?
What kind of bearings?

Hi Francesco,

This looks like the classic spacer not being replaced when the rear tyre is reinstalled.

This happened to my bike and there is a thread for it somewhere on here. I replaced just the swingarm completed. There was no apparent damaged to the bearings at all however, I would check before reinstalling everything as things may be a little different for you.

Also, just check the sprocket carrier bolts on the inside of the rim as you may have a few surprises there too....broken carrier bolts.

I think this must have happened to the swinging arm on my 907 sometime in the past. It has been repaired with alloy welding that, after machining, is almost invisible. I didn't notice it until I was fitting a new length of plastic tubing to the chain oiler.

I guess the only problem was the nuts unbolt.
In fact, I found all the nuts not well screwed on the carrier sprocket.
So, I will lock them with the wire to avoid they will go unbolt again.
Do you think I don't need to replace the swingarm bearings?
If yes, how can I remove the bearings from the swingarm?

when the bearings spin/move as intended I would leave them in place.
the same counts for the wheelbearings, as these faced the axial load during the damaging to the swingarm.
lock-wiring the nuts is an option, although not strictly necessary as the original nuts are mechanical selfretaining.

By now, I need to remove, take it out, take apart, dismount etc. etc. both the swingarm bearings and the fuel filter.
Really, I would have preferred to replace the fuel filter only

what I have done when replacing the rear sprocket is to put some blue locktite on the bolt thread, this works better than other fastners, of course if you lock the nuts with wire that works too.

another thing that's also recomended (from Brad) while you have the carrier out, is to tighten the bolts with the allan key from inside the carrier, to prevent the bolt itself from loosening after you torque the nut.
