thanks!

those rims I have put a lot of time into, in fact the front had to be disassembled
and some goo and an o-ring put into it as the spanish factory must've assembled it on
friday afternoon and it leaked air everywhere!

the rear floating brake hanger is handmade (and originally for an F3 260mm disc)
and the rear disc is from a 750 sport so I had to machine 5mm to just get it to fit

I thought you may have been in Australia somewhere Sean.That is a beautiful bike.Based on an F1?.Where did you get the seat unit from?.Are those carbies Lectrons.

yep...1987 F1 was my first ducati and that got sold but dont fret...they can still be found!

That looks nice Sean, I too have always wanted an F1 or TT replica of some sort. Mind you I'd be happy if I could get a nice proper single seat tail for my 900. Looks we are pretty much neighbours, I'm in Gympie.

and fester do you need a seat tail for a 1989 900? I have a couple of 750 sport seat tails...

Wow, what a cool read!! Thanks for the idea on cleaning up the wheels! Guess I'll get out there and start the long process of stripping, sanding, polishing.....once it gets above -10!!! I hate winter!

.I got a bit more done today and with holidays due in 4 weeks I'm hoping to make a bit more progress.As I said before this is not a restiration but more a rescue therefor things like brake calipers and triple clamps etc will only be cleaned up and not repainted.
The fork tubes have a lot of rust spots on the front of the tubes.
That's a nice clear photo of the bench :lol:

I can't afford new legs at this stage so a clean up with 1000 and 1200 wet and dry will have to suffice for now.I'm aiming at removing the high spots and hoping this will stop the seals from tearing.A polish then turn them around and see how it goes.
I'm going to clean up the fork tubes and give them a paint at a later stage.

Same with the calipers and triple clamps.

But next is a good polish for the Staintunes.

More to come soon.....I hope :dunno:
