Oil leak

Anyone know what that small screw is for?

Looks like there's oil leaking from there.
The prev. owner had some rubbery epoxy over it which came loose.

I always assumed it was the oil line feeding the head and cams. I assumed it was a cross drilled hole, and that was simply a plug. I have a spare head on the bench. I'll dare to take the screw out and see what's inside. There is some Loctite that seals and holds, but I don't know the part number off the top of my head.

Yes, a sealed oil gallery. I was advised not to try and remove them. Too soft. Sealed mine with rtv after a very thorough cleaning and it hasn't leaked.

As stated above it's a blanking plug for an oilway drilling. They are on all the 2V engines and nearly all of them leak sooner or later. Use a thread sealant to keep the oil in.
