Well, you feel up to it, we would love to hear the story. No small task, for sure. How good are you at jetting?

Cheers, Phil.

i am not a pro at jetting but i haven't had troubles in the past with dialing carbs in.
witch mikunis do you speak of?
mostly wondering since my weber is going to need to be replaced if i want a smooth idle(mix screws had been over tightened by previous owner) and i can get a new holley for the price of a run down weber that needs to be rebuilt and may be in the same or worse condition.

New and second hand mikunis all over eBay James. $300 should cover carbs, cables, tubes, rubbers and air filters. Plenty of info on here to make it easy too. There's a mikuni on eBay now for $130 from a 600 monster.

I'm sure you could make a Holley work, hell Ducati made a Weber work! You may not even need an adapter plate for the manifold (dunno) . It'll prob. end up cheaper too and if you do get it to work properly, it'll give Paso owners another option.
I doubt it'll increase the resale value tho.

Just for clarification, the Mikunis were stock on the SS and Monsters for the 10 years or so of production until they went to fuel injection. Lots of them out there, and plenty of stage 1, 2, 3 jetting kits out there for them. Rock solid, and perform reasonably well, especially after some mild jetting changes. The set it - and forget it option.

Next higher performance option is the Dellorto carbs. 36mm is ideal for the 750, 40s for the 900.
Highest performance option is the FCR carbs.

Cheers, Phil

I very rarely saw a Ducati Mikuni with a Dynojet stage 3 kit.

I have no clue if this is true but I read somewhere once the passage ways in the Mikunis used on 350/400 and 600 Ducatis were different/smaller than the ones in Mikunis for 750 and 900s.
Ian Falloons book shows a large number of Mikuni carb types used by Ducati. All are of course BDST38 but as on the Weber carbs after that comes a number i.e. B70. I initally thought this number might be for the whole carb incl. its specific jetting but it isn`t. Whatever it stands for it doesn`t really seem to be relevant.

She's an Italian bike - give her Italian carbs, DellOrtos, and she'll love you for it. She'll fly.

okay checked for leaks and found none. did notice that when the engine is idling the ac jets are leaking fuel out in a pulsing fashion.
if i chalk the ac pump arm off the ramp it stops pulsing and the idle smoothes out.. suggestions? not quite sure how to remedy this issue or if its normal????

If you want a Paso that purrs like a pussy and bolts like a scared cat, fit DellOrtos.

Well, I reckon they're damn good carburetors, and I love the way my bike runs with them. I honestly can't see why anyone (including the factory) would want to fit anything else to a 750 Paso.

i need to fix mine the cheapest way possible right now and a new carb doesn't sound cheap :( unless one of you guys has the stock weber sitting in a box and want to part with it for cheap i am parked for now.. not much for duc parts here, having a hard time finding a replacement.
