Ok,more progress today.First up the sidestand. It's pretty grotty.

A bit better than before.I might paint the spring plate black.I'll decide before I put it back on....obviously

This is the bit I've been avoiding.Oh well, might as well get stuck in :,( .

This has'nt been cleaned for a while.

Cleaner.

Better.

Nice...

....but what do I do with all this

Next!!!!!

More painting me thinks.

Well here she is so far.I'll have to have a closer look at those clipons at some stage.

I've got to go out tomorrow but I'll see if I can get the oil cooler done.

Cheers
Andrew

At this rate I won't have anything to do when I'm on holidays ;) .Anyway I got the oil cooler and headlight done and also touched up a spot I somehow missed when painting the engine.

So here we go.
The touch up.

The oil cooler looks better than this photo shows.

Bugga, must have still been some oil in it :dunno:

I tried to clean the oil cooler pipe up with some armourall with mixed results.

The headlight was an easy cleanup.

I used some rust converter on the timing pulley but it did'nt seem to do a lot.I'll try some other stuff I have under the bench tomorrow.

Oh dear,this does'nt look like a quick job :,( .

I was never been a fan of the Weber when I had my 750 Paso and had great success with these 40mm Delortos off my MHR ( I put pumpers on the MHR ).I was hoping to try the Weber on the Sport before making a decision because 1.my mate who owned the bike before was a good mechanic and I believe he had it running ok and 2.it seemed to run ok when I run it for the short time when I first got it.

Sooooo,I'll clean the Weber up and give it a go.If it's not to good I might try some of the mods done on here.....or not   .

Cheers
Andrew

Crap, looking at those photos above of the Weber I might have to think hard about whether I can be bothered spending time on it :?: .

Cheers

I`m sure the outside of that Weber will clean up as nicely as all the other parts you did before. The question is how it looks inside (the float chamber) and in which condition all jets are (but you have that little ultrasonic bath for them).
Seeing that cambelt pulley and the end of the camshaft makes me wonder how the cam looks behind the pulley where the oil seal is.
Anyone tried this stuff ?

Hey Andrew, thanks for directing me to your restoration project you have done a fantastic job both on the restoration & also the documentation of your work. There is a lot on here that I will adapt to my Moto Guzzi Cafe Racer project when I get it underway & my BMW R100 restoration. Thanks for seeking me out on the adventure rider website & steering me back to paso.org. Pity this site is not on Tapatalk app as I would be a lot more active here if it was. You are on the home straight & I will watch you finish it with great interest. Keep up the awesome work!

Cheers James

My go faster bits arrived today.

Red's faster you know

I gave the carbie a degrease this afternoon and it did'nt come up too bad.

I'm not going to spend to much time on it at this stage.

I feel like a check out chick....NEXT!!!!.Luckily I don't look like one

This looks like it used to be painted black. Can anyone confirm this and maybe have a photo of it please.

Does anyone have any idea what this might be off.

It was lying with all the other bits so I assume it's from the bike....or not  .

Cheers
Andrew

Looks like a thingamejig off your whosewhatsit to me.
I could be wrong though.

Just stick it in a box, I have a removalist box full of bits that I could not find a place for back on my old K100RS. It is still running perfectly ( my mate now owns it) but is faster because it is lighter.

Cheers
James
