Cheers mate. I still haven't got around to fitting it yet, maybe tomorrow, there's no hurry.

Talking to Protwin a couple days ago and expecting the 900 engine to be completed this Friday, she's definitely getting closer. Then ill get her back together and running, refit the bodywork and have another crack at the paintwork, while I'm painting I'm thinking of sending her to Vic who's a legend with electrical stuff on bikes as I seem to have a charge light staying on last time we fired her up. I lost some pics of the original strip down through a shit computer and got something wrong on the harness refirb, I'd post some pics now but seems that IMAGE SIZE, has put the brakes on my uploading of photos, so I need to try address that issue as well.

Ok this pic has come through, not sure how or why but I may be back in business, you can see all the cracks through the case there, too many coats of duplicolor, so now I have stripped that and finished in wrinkle paint finish.

Well it looks as though the 900 motor is nearly rebuilt and ready to refit in the bike which has been patiently hanging from my shed roof, bit of luck ill get moving and finish her and get to see what these bikes are actually like to ride, its something I've thought about so much but really have no idea.My expectations are pretty high, hopefully next time on here I have some good stuff to show and tell.

Good to hear it's getting close to riding.

Yeah thx,the resto has gone forward and backwards so many times it starts to look as though it may never be done. I wreckon the fact i pulled the trigger on a total engine rebuild has really reignited the original passion I had back when I first hung her up in the shed and began stripping her down and assessing what needed what and to what extent. I remember asking Justin's opinion on a full resto and considering the rusty mess it was he gave me a definitve no too hard, waha went for it anyway.

Very lucky that as time went by he realised I was seriously past the point of no return and has backed me up with so much help and knowledge along the way, anyone who has been down this road with these models knows there is many oddball quirks along the way and lots of hard to find parts. When you start searching bits and bobs you realise how rare and different they are .

Just having a look at the tanks as I hope at least one will be needed before too long, the one on the left i got Gary at TPM Queensland as my original has been slightly modified at rear attachment, still totally functional but the other is better condition anyway. Last summer I treated Gary's one with some metal rescue soaking and she's come up pretty good , admittedly it only had very minimal signs of rust but it made me feel happier to get about paint and chucking fuel into it for the new fcrs waiting to burst back into life, the old tank has a little more internal rust which i will treat when we get some more hot weather, can't do much else till the old girls motor is back in my shed
