Hi all, is it possible to run 17inch wheels on a 906 that current has the standard 16 inchers without having to do any major modifications?

Thanks, Rob.

I have already hole rear with brake things from one wrecked 907IE and also 17" front wheel waiting that 17" conversion to my 750 Paso, surely same time updating 320mm discs with 4 piston Brembos. :lick: :lick: :lick: I am gonna do it by using 907IE parts, NOT with original 750/906 swingarm, cause i think, little longer 907 swingarm is better to Paso handling. ... one rainy winter day....

Btw, Ducati have used 4.5" rear wheel in some earlier 750SS (and maybe Monster models), but 907IE and 900SS have 5.5" wheel.

Never having ridden a Paso with 17" conversion, don't know if this is a concern. 750/906 fork tubes are longer, hence geometry will be different. Possible cure is bar risers to raise tubes in triples 1/2"? Possible 17" rear will retain geometry?

i don´t know the 907 but the 906 with 17" and 180/55 is

at the moment i only know the bt20. the paso is a new one.

the geometry is not relevant. the handling is better (my opinion), no standup at breaking.

i´ve heard, the handling will be imazing with 4,5"/17" and 160/60  but i love the look of the 180/55 :neener:

I also run 180 rear on my 907=great handling.
And yes, geometry is VERY important to handling!

surely is th geometry very important.
but the changes are not so heavy that you can recognize any bad results.[/quote]

Oh yeah? Try this; Slide your forks up 3/4" in the triples and put all preload you can on your rear shock. Now find straight road and bring up to 90mph. If you survive this, let us know how it felt. This was just a geometry change.

hi qldman36, i belive you don´t understand my statement

you´re really right but many paso-owner comes with the geometry argument.
this is stupid. i did it with the 906 swingarm and the 906 fork, 120/70 and 180/55 tyres and the handling is better then before.

enough geometry... :funny:

i say there are no drawbacks except the money you need
